Eagle's Wings
Eagle's Wings is a sub-group of Home and School. Their mission is to recognize and show appreciation to the faculty and staff at SJS.
Some of the functions they host include;
~Monthly luncheons - Usually two parents from each grade volunteer to coordinate these luncheons. Some luncheons may even have a theme! Donations of food and/or money from families in that grade help cover the costs, and Home and School will help out with funds when the need arises.
~Staff Appreciation Day - Snacks, drinks and goodies are provided in all three lounges at school.
~Birthday Club - Parents create gifts for all of the teachers and staff, including the Pastors and Associate Pastors. They also make sure that the recipients get their gifts on their birthdays. There is usually a theme for the gifts that everyone receives.
~Parent/Teacher Conferences - Eagle's Wings will provide dinner for the faculty during these events.
~Teacher and Staff Acknowledgement - Cards will be sent in the event of a birth, wedding or death in their family. Flowers or other tokens of appreciation may be provided at events like music programs, First Communion, First Reconciliation, etc.

Christmas Cookie Project
Watch your email for an announcement regarding the date that cookies and parent volunteers will be needed. 2011 will be the third year that Home and School has assembled into wonderful holiday plates and delivered to all of our SJS neighbors and FAN businesses. It's a nice way for our school to thank them for their support and to let them know that we appreciate them as friends and neighbors.
Christmas Appreciation
Families have the opportunity to contribute to this Christmas Appreciation fund at the beginning of the school year or again near the Christmas holiday. Usually a $5.00 donation per student is suggested. Home and School collects all the monies and purchases generic HOPE certificates for each teacher, administrator and staff member at the school. The gifts range from $25-$50 each depending on how much money is collected. Home and School has provided additional funds in the past to help with this project.
