January Luncheon Hosted by the 4th Grade

"Christmas Blessings" luncheon hosted by the 5th Grade in December

Picture
The Eagles Wings luncheon was held on  Wednesday December 14 in the Teacher's lounge.  The theme was 'Christmas Blessings' and the room  was decorated with the colors of Christmas.  The meal consisted of Poppyseed Chicken, Spring Greens salad, rolls and assorted cupcakes and Christmas goodies.  Many thanks to those who donated their time and money to make the luncheon a success.

Here's the recipe for Poppyseed Chicken

1 lg. fryer,  boned  OR 2 cans Swanson Chicken (I usually use chicken breasts, boiled and shredded)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pint sour cream
2 TBSP   poppyseeds
1 Pkg. Ritz crackers, crushed
1 stick butter,  melted

Mix  soup and sour cream.  Mix butter, poppyseed and crackers.
Layer half of the  chicken, half of the soup mixture and half of the Cracker
mixture in a greased 2  1/2 quart casserole.  Bake 350 for 30-40 minutes.

8th Grade Hosts the First Eagles Wings Luncheon of the School Year

Parents, Mary Manley and Susan Freeman planned a  tailgate party for the SJS Teachers and Staff.  Decorations were  SJS blue and yellow  and included a football helmet, pom poms, sports themed plates and football  themed mints.  Great tailgate food was served including: BBQ meatballs and little smokies, dips and chips including buffalo and sausage/cheese) and a fruit tray.  Some of  the eighth  grade students supplied the desserts and were able to earn service hours for the  time taken to prepare the dessert.  GO EAGLES!!
