FAQ General Questions

Q.  How know how much we credit we have earned  towards our tuition from purchasing HOPE certificates?

A.   We checked with Rich Hopkins at the school office and families  earn the credit earned  for the next years tuition runs from April 1 through March 31.  So any credit earned from purchasing HOPE certificates during the period beginning  April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011 will be applied toward tuition owed for the 2011-2012 school year and will be reflected on your tuition statement that is sent out in July.  If you have any further questions please contact Rich Hopkins at the school office – 572-0339 or rhopkins@sjsomaha.org.

Q.  What do I do if I do not have easy computer access and am unable to read materials that are posted regarding school events, etc?

A.
Contact Ruth Franson at the school office - (402) 572-0339 or rfranson@sjsomaha.org
to request to have all documents that would be sent electronically sent to you in hard copy form.

Q:  I work during school hours. How do I get involved in St. James/Seton?

A:
There are many ways you can get involved in your child/ren’s school, even if you aren’t available during the school day. Here are a few ways:

·        Prayer Partners
·        Annual Fundraiser
·        Home & School Association
·        Eagles’ Wings
·        Box Tops for Education and other label savings programs
·        FAN Nights

Q:  How do I check my child’s lunch account balance?

A:  You can access Sycamore from our school website
www.sjsomaha.org. Click on the Sycamore Education link, log in and then click on My Accounting on the left  side menu; then click My Accounts. Click on the blue word, “Cafeteria”, and a full listing of your child’s lunch account will appear. (Hint: Make sure your computer allows popups on this site.)

Q:  My child would like to set up a playdate with his/her classmate. How do I contact the parents?

A:  You can use the SJS School Directory to contact the parents of your child’s friend. A phone number and possibly an e-mail address will be available. Also, you can use the Pass-A-Note feature when you log on to the Sycamore system, via
www.sjsomaha.org.
