What is the "Used Uniform Sale" all about?
This is an opportunity for families to:
- Sell gently used SJS school uniforms items.
- Sell First Communion dresses and suits.
- Sell Scout, soccer and other school team or organization uniform apparel.
- All items to be sold must be in good condition. Anything found with holes, tears or stains will not be sold.
This is the perfect opportunity to purchase all of these items for your SJS students at great prices!
How does the sale work?
1. The sale is generally held during the first part of August in the school gym or SJ Parsh Center on a weeknight evening. It starts at 6 p.m., and items to be sold can be dropped off prior to that time.
2. Families bring clean, sometimes new, and gently worn uniform clothes
- You can bring pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers, sweaters and sweathshirts.
- You can bring uniforms like (SJEA soccer or Scouts) and related accessories.
- You can bring First Communion dresses and suits.

4. Every item for sale must have an envelope pinned to it with the following information:
- Size or waist/length
- Boys or Girls
- Price
- Your name
5. As items are purchased the money is placed in the envelopes and sealed. Then the envelopes are turned in at the "check-out" table.
6. Do not bring large bills or your checkbook (unless you plan to purchase NEWuniforms items from the vendors .
- Used uniforms are CASH ONLY! Bring lots of single $1 bills, maybe some quarters and a few larger bills ($5, $10) especially if you plan to purchase the plaid skirts, skorts or jumpers.
- NO change is available on site that night.
7. How should I price my items that I want to sell? Well that depends on the quality of the garments. Use your best judgement. Price your items reasonably. Maybe think about how much you would pay for those same items.
8. How much do items cost?
- Plaid skirts, jumpers and skorts cost more since they can only be ordered from a uniform company (anywhere from $3 - $20).
- Shorts and pants may be $.50 - $5.00 depending on the quality of these items.
- NEW polo shirts usually run from $14- $20.00 depending on the size and vendor.
9. Used yellow shirts may NOT be sold in 2011 as many shirts fade over time, etc.. It's best to best to buy these items new.
10. After the sale concludes, all families must return to collect any unsold items and their earnings from the evening.
11. Proceeds from items that do not have names on them or are not claimed at the end of the evening are donated to the school. Garments left behind are either kept in the nurse's office for kids who need to change during the school day or are kept for the next sale.
12. School approved vendors will be available that evening to purchase or order new uniform items. These vendors are listed on the SJS Homepage.
